The Fact is that Dorland’s and Stedman's are the two premier medical dictionaries. Both books have occasional errors; each book has terms that the other lacks; and each book has some definitions that are superior to those in the other. But the Dorland’s is more preferable because it has fewer errors in addition to cheaper prices.
The Important thing to know is that the Medical dictionaries are not valid as medical textbooks. However the Dorland’s medical dictionary considered as The "Bible" of medical dictionaries.

Dorland’s Illustrated Medical Dictionary (Standard Version) Standard version refers to 29th edition which published by Saunders in April 15, 2000, and consists of 2088 pages, with ISBN-10: 0721662544, and ISBN-13: 978-0721662541.

PROS:There is not a single desk without its own copy of "Dorland’s”,
Easy-to-read, easy-to-navigate and has a beautiful layout, easy-to-read font, and subtle and effective illustrations, in addition to italicize a genus and/or species, and even identifying which IS a genus and/or species.
Useful for corroborating some facts and getting alternative meanings of words,
The PDA feature is good and the access to the internet version of Dorland’s is an incredible time saver.

CONS:Not recommended to healthcare and medical student as the only resource of medical terminology due to:
Pronunciations are often lacking (e.g., for the cranial foramina and skeletal muscles), the illustrations are meager and inferior to Stedman's
Many terms are missing. Dorland’s doesn't even define first-, second-, and third-degree burns, for example, and the levator labii superioris muscle and levator labii superioris alaeque nasi are completely missing from both the body of the dictionary and the appendix of muscle tables. Such omissions reflect either inexcusable carelessness or inexplicable editorial caprice.
The illustrations and pictures may be a little pale but this problem is solved by the next edition and became more colorful.
Relatively heavy weight “like a 10Ib book”: make it is not a friend when traveling.
